Update On Jim from 3/11/26

Hello Barn Owl Clients and Friends-

As many of you know, Jim passed away on March 3, 2026 after the rapid progression of his cancer. It has been a difficult time for us and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we navigate this huge loss.

Today, we have been going through his workshop to locate everyone’s equipment so that it can be returned. We are hoping to be in touch with each of you over the next two weeks if you have not already heard from us. Please feel free to use the email below to send us any information, copies of communications with Jim or any questions about your equipment that you feel are important. If you had pre-paid for return shipping and sent Jim the label, please resend them as well. We will be doing our best to get back to people quickly. If your situation is URGENT, please put URGENT in the title of the email.

There are many pieces that had been received and inventoried but never worked on. However, there are some pieces that did get serviced and/or repaired and we will communicate all of the specifics when we are in touch. It is challenging to know how to proceed in terms of payment for the work done, especially in light of the lengthy delays with minimal communication due to Jim’s medical condition. Any client that would like to pay for their service/repairs can let us know when we are in touch and it will go directly in to the fund started for his four year old son.

Again, all of your equipment is safe and stored in his workshop that only we have access to. He had a very specific process for receiving and keeping inventory of the equipment sent to him. There were only a few pieces he was actively working on and we have been in touch with those clients. Everything else remains intact and packaged.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words, prayers and condolences. It has helped us to know how loved Jim was within the camera community.

Love and Kindness,

Meg, Anne, Steve and Larry Kilroy (siblings)
